I am currently a Visiting Instructor at Gustavus Adolphus College teaching Public Discourse and Interpersonal Communication. In the fall of 2013, I will be moving to Grace College to begin as an Assistant Professor of Communication. I earned my Ph.D. from the University of Memphis in 2013, writing a dissertation entitled: An Appeal to the World: The Controversial Rhetoric of Samuel Adams. My research interests are political rhetoric, presidential rhetoric, rhetorical criticism, rhetorical theory, rhetorical history, argumentation and pedagogy. Though I enjoy research in these areas, my passion really lies in the teaching side of academia which you can read more about by clicking on the teaching tab above. Please explore this site for more information about me and my academic pursuits. Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments. Thanks for visiting. Dr. Patrick Lobes, Ph.D. |
